Hi, I’m Jo McLaughlin — a London-based art historian, curator, and presenter. I love making art history accessible and exciting, whether it’s through Renaissance masterpieces or today’s most exciting contemporary artists.

I’m also the creator and host of Jo’s Art History Podcast, which has been lucky enough to reach the Apple Podcast Top 5 in the Visual Arts Category and was shortlisted in the Arts & Culture category at the 2024 Independent Podcast Awards.

Originally from Scotland, I studied Art History at the University of Glasgow and Art Business at Kingston University, London. I’ve spent over a decade working across museums, galleries, archives, and with artists, and I’m passionate about connecting people with art in meaningful, everyday ways.

Right now, I’m the Lead Curator at Acrylicize, a global art and design studio based in East London and New York. I work with brilliant artists around the world to commission and curate collections that bring creativity out of the gallery and into the world. Some recent projects include the Old Session House collection in Farringdon (shortlisted for a 2024 Dezeen Award), the Wembley Park Spring Public Art Trail, and was lucky enough to curate a recent collection for the LinkedIn Experience Centre in Farringdon, London.

Further to my work at Acrylicize, I am a passionate curator who, in 2024, was one of six curators invited to curate the Art on a Postcard International Women’s Day Charity Auction.

Looking ahead, Season 4 of Jo’s Art History Podcast launches in March 2025, running bi-weekly until November. I’ll also be curating the Emerging Artist Stand at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea this October. Exciting stuff
